AkSNA Announces Two New Scholarship Applications Alaska School Nutrition Association’s The Single Unit Scholarship is an annual benefit to members of AkSNA who work in a food service program that participates in the National School Lunch, Breakfast or AfterSchool Snack Programs. This scholarship is not available to directors or supervisors who have administrative authority over multiple feedings sites. Up to $500 are available to each scholarship winner. A total of $2,500 in scholarships will be awarded annually. These funds are to cover the cost of airfare, hotel, meal and ground transportation costs to attend the annual AkSNA conference. Submit application by September 1, 2006. Alaska School Nutrition Association’s Continuous Learning Member Scholarships The Continuous Learning Member Scholarship is an annual benefit to members of AkSNA who work in a food service program that participates in the National School Lunch, Breakfast or AfterSchool Snack Programs. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funds for members to attend training that can benefit the individual’s career goals, program improvement, or the association. Scholarship winners must share knowledge gained from this training with association members either through an article in the association newsletter or present at the annual association conference. Submit application two months prior to training. These funds are to cover the cost of registration, airfare, hotel, meal and ground transportation costs to attend the training.
